Overview: Ensuring that all of your staff are qualified, professional, and are able to meet all regulations Is critical for Home Health & Hospice Agencies.  An Effective Competency Program can be the answer. Having an effective competency program can decrease your risk, improve customer satisfaction, improve patient and agency outcomes, and help to prevent deficiencies. It can also improve the Quality of your agency overall.  This session will explain what a competency program is, as well as how to develop and implement a simple, yet effective program throughout your agency – for all staff.

Presenter:  

Sharon Litwin, RN, BSHS, MHA, HCS-D, COQS, Litwin Home Health Consulting, LLC 

Sharon has had an extensive career in home health, starting as a field nurse in 1985. Over the ensuing years, she held positions in California and Missouri as Director of Patient Services, Administrator, Regional Director, and Executive Director of a large hospital-based home services division.

In 2003, Sharon left the corporate world to create 5 Star Consultants, to utilize her knowledge in partnership with agencies in providing assistance and education to those in need. Since then, she has also been a CHAP and ACHC surveyor, performing Medicare deemed accreditation surveys for 10 years.

In 2020, she sold the company to Healthcare Provider Solutions, and is now offering her expertise and knowledge to a limited number of clients in the industry. Sharon now lives in sunny Cape Coral, Florida, and is pleased to offer services through her new consulting agency, Litwin Home Health Consulting, LLC.

Registration Fees:  

KHCHA Members:  $89 / agency

Non-Members:  $178 / agency

Registrations should not be shared between agency offices—if an agency plans to participate from two office locations, two registrations are required.

Registration Deadline:  August 9, 2023, by 5:00 PM CDT

Continuing Education:  Kansas Home Care & Hospice Association is approved as a provider of CNE by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. This course offering is approved for 1.8 contact hours applicable for APRN, RN, or LPN relicensure. Kansas State Board of Nursing provider number: LT0287-0314.

Cancellations:  Fees will be refunded only if written cancellation is received prior to the workshop webinar link being sent to your agency. In the event of a written cancellation, KHCHA will retain $25 of the initial registration fee to cover administrative overhead.
