A Four-Part Teleconference Series

Presented in partnership with the
Association for Home & Hospice Care
of North Carolina

Be Sure Staff Have the Training They Need!

This affordable series of 4 teleconferences will cover the OASIS section by section and discuss the problematic areas and provide an opportunity for questions and answers.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require the collection of OASIS items on all appropriate home health patients at several time points. CMS provides both annual and quarterly updates to their guidance on how to appropriately respond to the items. Are you current with this evolving guidance?

These educational teleconferences will focus on assisting home health clinical staff, QI Coordinators and supervisors who want to increase their knowledge related to OASIS completion and will cover the requirements for the two OASIS credential exams – the Certificate for OASIS Specialist Clinical (COS-C) and the Home Care Clinical Specialist OASIS (HCS-O) and offer tips to prepare for the exams.

Part One: January 9, 2014
2:00 to 3:00 pm CST
This teleconference will cover the OASIS data collection requirements, general conventions and CMS resources. The Patient Tracking, Clinical Records, Patient History and Diagnoses items will be discussed.

Part Two: January 16, 2014
2:00 to 3:00 pm CST
This teleconference will cover the Living Arrangements, Sensory Status, Integumentary Status and Respiratory items.

Part Three: January 23, 2014
2:00 to 3:00 pm CST
This teleconference will cover the Cardiac Status, Elimination Status, Neuro/Emotional/Behavioral Status items and the ADLs/IADLs.

2:00 to 3:00 pm CST

Prior to joining the Association, Heather was with the Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization. Heather is a Certified Health Education Specialist and holds a Certificate as an OASIS Specialist-Clinical.

Registration Fee:
KHCA Members are $99 per call-in line or DVD per part ($396 for all 4 parts)
Non-members are $198 per call-in line or DVD per part ($792 for all 4 parts).

Enjoy the convenience and cost-efficiency of a teleconference workshop. There is no travel time involved and no limit to the number of attendees from your agency who may participate at your site through one hook-up. All you need to participate is a speaker telephone. You will be provided a toll-free number.  Due to the expense of using the hook-up, registrations may not be shared between agencies – the agency’s registration covers the access of only one line into the teleconference. The handouts will be emailed to you 2-3 days prior to the teleconference.

Continuing Education:  The Association for Home and Hospice Care of NC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Registration Deadline:  Please register at least one week prior to guarantee that you receive e-mailed confirmation details. However, late registrations will be accepted.
